Myopia, also known as short sightedness, is becoming a major global issue with new research showing one in three children is affected. In a recent My Macular and Me webinar Dr Annegret Dahlmann-Noor, called for increased awareness and research investment in MMD, which she called an "increasingly common problem."

The UK National Eye Health and Hearing Study, aims to record data to inform the NHS and policymakers and is a collaboration between sensory loss charities, Anglia Ruskin University, eye and hearing care professionals and the public sector.
