Macular Society charity places - applications opening soon!

We are delighted that we will have a small number of charity places available in the 2026 TCS London Marathon, which is scheduled to take place on 26 April 2026.

We expect demand for these places to be very high and will award them to the applicants who display a real commitment to their fundraising, as well as the motivation to train for and complete the full marathon distance.

Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted over the coming months. We expect to make a final decision about places in late July, after London Marathon Events announce the public ballot results.

Places in the London Marathon are highly sought after by runners, and purchasing charity places is a significant investment for the Charity. For this reason, we will be asking runners to pledge to raise a minimum £2,500 (excluding Gift Aid) in sponsorship to help Beat Macular Disease.

Register your interest to be one of the first to hear when our applications open.

Visually Impaired runners

If you are a visually impaired runner with a charity place or your own/ballot place, London Marathon Events can offer a free guide/support runner place. If you would like further details, please get in touch by emailing community@macularsociety.org
